[HU] Tbh, it's really frustrating...started some weeks back.

[HU] My internet connection suddenly stops working on the windows 11 but other devices connected to the router continue to work well...even after restarting the router..the connection won't come back on my PC.

[HU] Not until I restart the PC...now i have to restart my pc over 20 times daily and its affecting my workflow.

[HU] I have done the network reset and everything listed on this thread...

[HU] None works until i have restarted the PC completely.my network drivers are up to date...

[HU] Wish I can downgrade to windows 10 without losing my apps and settings.

[HU] This windows 11 is frustrating.

[HU] I was told there isn’t actually a fix for this. The only option is to buy a usb wireless adapter.

[HU] This is still an issue, ever since the latest upgrade/update my surface pro constantly disconnects from my wifi. I have my work lap top connected to the same wifi and it NEVER disconnects, my phones, my tablets, my TVs,, cameras etc all NEVER, repeat NEVER disconnect but ever since the windows update this surface pro has become unbearable to use and to the point of useless. Very frustrating, the fact that the only product that disconnects is the windows surface AFTER the update proves it is only a windows issue. Not a wifi issue, not a router issue....a windows/Microsoft issue. Maybe its finally time to go on the apple train!

[HU] I have exactly the same problem and like the other person, the only thing that fixes it is to continually reboot my laptop. Its really frustrating.

[HU] Same here. My MacBook has no problem like this but my iPad does. The common denominator is that I have Proton VPN on all three. On my W11 laptop, I have to turn WiFi off and on. There are also some issues with pages not loading unless I turn off the Proton VPN. On the iPad, I have to run Forget Network and delete the Proton VPN app. Then sign back into the WiFi and re-install Proton VPN. Linux is looking better and better.

[HU] Hello Lee, rather than restart, you could left click the wifi icon in the system tray and then hit the button next to the ">" which is a repeat of the same icon. This switches off wifi, then switch it back on. - A lot less time wasted.

[HU] All the problems listed here are common to each machine on Windows 11 in our household. The reliable fix is to cable in, nothing above has helped (in fact updating the driver felt like it got worse.).

[HU] We are running a NetComm Mesh NF20MESH.

[HU] Final comment I think. With the mesh down to 1 node the windows 11 networking issues disappear. All our Windows 10 machines have no issues with a mesh, so ....

[HU] I have the same problem. My phone works fine, my notebook works fine (win 10), but my desktop computer (win 11) randomly disconnects. I am connected to wifi via USB wireless adapter. It started roughly 1-2 months ago. I am glad that at least the problem is not on my side. Hope they are gonna fix it soon because its really frustrating.

[HU] I had this issue then it disappeared and was fine for some time. Recently again the issue started happening. Seems they broke it again with recent updates.

[HU] 100% ever since this awful windows 11 update, yet another Microsoft fail. I also NEVER had an issue with wifi connection. Now, I step away and it randomly disconnects leading to a FULL RESTART every time. When I go to the wifi, it's grayed out on airplane mode.

[HU] I know Microsoft endeavors to make billions while sacrificing customer satisfaction, but this is obscene. I sit this PC right next to my work Surface device and so far, that one has no issues.

[HU] Hope there's an actual update and resolution to this glitch that doesn't involve me buying more things just to fix something msft broke in the first place.

[HU] It takes 5 to 10 min to keep wi-fi on . Once wi-fi stays on it will stay until I shut down laptop. I now leave my laptop windows 11 on all the time and never shut it off and I now have no problem . Is it ok to leave computer on all the time????

[HU] Thanks for your time. It sounds like the wifi is not stable in your scenario. Apart from the troubleshooting methods you have tried, would you please also try the following two methods.

[HU] When tackling persistent ‘WiFi keeps disconnecting Windows 11’ issues, advanced troubleshooting techniques can help. Start by updating your WiFi drivers, as outdated drivers often contribute to disconnection problems on Windows 11. Visit your laptop manufacturer’s website or the WiFi adapter manufacturer’s site to obtain the latest compatible driver, install it, and reboot your computer for a more stable connection.

[HU] Adjusting power settings is another critical step. Right-click on the Start button, access ‘Device Manager,’ expand ‘Network adapters,’ right-click your WiFi adapter, and visit the ‘Power Management’ tab. Uncheck ‘Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power’ to optimize your settings for stability.

[HU] Checking for interference and changing WiFi channels can also help mitigate disconnection issues. Access your router’s settings page using a web browser and select a channel with minimal interference.

[HU] Lastly, utilize Windows 11’s built-in network troubleshooters to diagnose and resolve various network-related issues, including persistent WiFi disconnection problems.

[HU] Fine-Tuning Windows 11 Settings for Enhanced Stability

[HU] To enhance your WiFi’s stability on Windows 11, you can make some simple adjustments. It’s important to first address any potential driver conflicts. Begin by opening the ‘Device Manager,’ where you’ll find the ‘Network adapters’ category. Right-click on your WiFi adapter, then choose ‘Update driver.’ Opt for ‘Search automatically for updated driver software’ to address the ‘WiFi keeps disconnecting Windows 11’ issue.

[HU] Next, consider optimizing advanced adapter settings. To access these settings, right-click on the Start button and navigate to ‘Device Manager.’ Find ‘Network adapters,’ right-click on your WiFi adapter, and select ‘Properties.’ Inside the ‘Advanced’ tab, you can fine-tune options like ‘Roaming aggressiveness’ and ‘Wireless mode.’ These adjustments can help reduce WiFi disconnection problems on Windows 11.

[HU] Lastly, managing WiFi Sense and Metered Connection settings can provide additional stability. Head to ‘Settings’ > ‘Network & Internet’ > ‘WiFi,’ and then click on ‘Manage known networks.’ Here, you can turn off ‘Connect to suggested open hotspots’ and ‘Paid WiFi services,’ effectively minimizing WiFi disconnection issues on Windows 11.

[HU] Here are some best practices that recommended, just for your reference and hope it is helpful.

[HU] Resolving Network Cable Issues

[HU] Thanks for your reply.

[HU] If you receive the error "A network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken" on your laptop, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

  1. [HU] Check Physical Connections

  4. [HU] Restart Your Laptop : A simple restart can resolve many connectivity issues.
  5. [HU] Power Cycle Your Router/Modem : Unplug your router and modem, wait for about 30 seconds, then plug them back in and allow them to fully restart.
  6. [HU] Check Network Settings
  7. [HU] Network Adapter Status : Go to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network Connections . Right-click on your Ethernet connection and select Status to check if it’s enabled.
  8. [HU] Disable/Enable Adapter : Right-click on your Ethernet connection and choose Disable , then right-click again and select Enable .
  9. [HU] Update Network Drivers
  10. [HU] Device Manager : Open Device Manager (you can search for it in the Start menu), expand Network adapters , right-click your Ethernet adapter, and select Update driver . Follow the prompts to search for updated drivers.
  11. [HU] Run Network Troubleshooter
  12. [HU] Windows Troubleshooter : Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Network Adapter and run the troubleshooter. This can help identify and fix common network problems.
  13. [HU] Check IP Configuration
  14. [HU] Command Prompt : Open Command Prompt and run the following commands:
  15. [HU] ipconfig /renew This will refresh your IP address.
  16. [HU] Check for Hardware Issues
  17. [HU] Test with Another Device : If possible, connect another device to the same Ethernet cable and port to see if it works. If it doesn’t, the issue might be with the cable or the router.
  18. [HU] Check Laptop’s Ethernet Port : Inspect the Ethernet port on your laptop for any debris or damage.
  19. [HU] Reset Network Settings
  20. [HU] Network Reset : If the problem persists, consider resetting your network settings. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status and click on Network reset . This will remove and reinstall all your network adapters.
  21. [HU] Additional Troubleshooting Steps
  22. [HU] Forget the WiFi network and reconnect. Go to 'Settings' > 'Network & Internet' > 'WiFi' > 'Manage known networks', select your network, and click 'Forget'. Then reconnect to the network.
  23. [HU] Roll back the WiFi driver if the issue started after a recent update. Open 'Device Manager', expand 'Network adapters', right-click your WiFi adapter, select 'Properties', go to the 'Driver' tab, and click 'Roll Back Driver'.
  24. [HU] Change your IP address and DNS settings. You can set a static IP address or use Google's DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) for potentially improved connectivity.
  25. [HU] Reset your network adapter using the command prompt. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the following commands: 'netsh winsock reset', 'ipconfig /release', 'netsh int ip reset', 'ipconfig /flushdns', and 'ipconfig /renew'.
  26. [HU] Ensure that your WiFi adapter is not set to turn off to save power. Right-click on the Start button, select 'Device Manager', expand 'Network adapters', right-click your WiFi adapter, select 'Properties', and uncheck 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' under the 'Power Management' tab.
  27. [HU] If using a VPN, try disabling it to see if it resolves the disconnection issue, as VPNs can sometimes interfere with network stability.
  28. [HU] Consider moving closer to the router or changing the WiFi channel in your router settings to reduce interference from other devices.
